As a key leader within the Quality, Risk and Practice Portfolio, the Director of Applications works closely with the Director of Clinical Informatics, Training, Development, and Delivery to implement strategic and current digital health trends, leading practices, and opportunities while managing related risks. Day to day work will include application updates, building resilient solutions and platforms, cross platform integration within THP, and creating strong relationships with health care partners such as the Mississauga Health, Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, Canadian Institute for Health Information, peer Epic hospital systems, and others.

Working closely with Information Services and the Performance and Business Intelligence divisions, collaborative efforts extend to planning, reviewing, and overseeing the implementation of activities with the leadership team, ensuring alignment with established policies, procedures, legislative requirements, and standards. The role is accountable for the THP Hospital Information System Epic, managing its upgrade path, customer service, joy in use, and system roadmap but is a key partner and contributor for other digital health solutions. Serving as the liaison between Information Services and the Clinical Systems and Informatics team, the Director develops relationships at THP, prioritizes issues, identifies development opportunities, and resolves complex challenges. Additionally, the Director supports the integration of IS principles, including ITIL, into all work and provides strategic leadership, ensuring precision in the execution of Epic system software-related tasks.
